An established ridge pattern has set anchor on the Pacific Northwest, leading to a lengthy run of fine and clear weather from now into next weekend, at least.
This pattern opens the door to a persistent passage of polar air through the eastern States. It’s not all that fruitful as it’s cold and dry but is likely to support heavy snow through regions in the lee of the lake-effect fetch.
