For much of the mid-latitude alpine area September marks the transition to high variability in snow systems - A period of big swings.
As the seasons transition we see greater seasonal variability around the alpine regions, and there are a few notable systems over the next 2 weeks.
Southeast Australia
Polar airmass clips SE/NE Victoria on Saturday evening dropping snow as low as 600m
Frontal system on the 18th & follow-up strong front on the 21/22 SEP
NZ
Otago/South Island resorts have seen epic conditions in recent days
30-60cm in the last 48 hours for the Otago ski areas
Europe
Expecting an exceptionally ‘early’ snow system
1-2 metres expected over the next 72 hours
