It’s a fairy tale snow system, albeit outside of the snow season. One that uniquely confluences tropical moisture and polar air.

The result is heavy, wet snow. And whilst there’s little chance of good skiing out of it, it’ll be a sight for sore eyes after a long, hot summer for NZ:
